International Fuel Equipment & Services (IFES) is an Australian, family owned and operated provider of hydrocarbon storage and quality engineering services for a range of industries in Australia, including construction, mining, agriculture and transport.
Their vision is to be the “Go-to company for expert advice with affordable fuel handling equipment and bulk fuel storage tanks in all aspects of hydrocarbon bulk storage and dispensing Australia wide”. IFES pride themselves on being 100% Australian owned and work closely with local Australian manufacturers to build up demand for locally produced products.
IFES design, engineer and manufacture all types of bulk fuel storage solutions. They have an in-house team of petroleum industry professionals who specialise in bulk fuel storage tank design, manufacture, supply, installation, project management, and compliance and can even provide ongoing maintenance of fuel, waste oil and lubricant storage facilities and dispensing systems from small single tanks to large bulk fuel farms.
Background
International Fuel Equipment & Services were contacted by their customer, who required a very tight turn around in the design and manufacture of their bulk fuel tank, which required the need to look at a different technique to help reduce the overall installation time.
From the start of any project, IFES investigate the right solution for the client-specific objective and work hard to ensure that they provide a cost-effective product that has quality, safety, serviceability and reliability in mind.
IFES knew that press fit fittings would save them time, as press fit eliminates the need for welding and hot works permits and is 10x faster to install than traditional welding methods – making the entire install more secure and cost-effective.
Solution & Results:
Time played a massive factor in this build. Using Ibex Australia’s Impress 316L stainless steel press fit tube and fittings with Viton seals, it totally removed the need for any welded fittings. This decision to use press fit led to cutting the build time in half and the finished product looking great.
This cutting-edge technology offered a seamless solution for joining stainless steel tube without the need for welding or hot works, ensuring permanent and leak-free connections. Ibex Australia’s 316L Impress Stainless Steel Press Fitv tubing and fittings allowed for quick and efficient installation and reduced the need for onsite specialist welding. Another factor is the pressure rating as it accommodated the pressure IFES’ pumps will produce.
