Introduction
Located in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales on a beautiful historic abandoned kerosene mining village, you will find Joadja Distillery. Jimenez family, the current owners of Joadja Town and the distillery, were inspired by the Scottish miners who brought with them their skills in mining and retorting technique as well as stilling and brewing “sly grog”. Sly grog was an illegally made alcohol back in the day and was often made in makeshift stills.
The family-owned distillery started operating in 2014, producing its multiple-award-winning Single Malt Whisky, Gin, Anise Liqueur, Rum, and Brandy.
Background
Joadja Distillery is one of only a handful of Single Malt Whisky distilleries in the world that grow their own barley and have access to pristine spring water on-site, which has uniquely positioned them to create some of the most flavourful whiskies around. Their hand-picked ex-Sherry barrels from Spain add an extra layer of richness and complexity to their spirits, resulting in a whisky that is truly unique and unforgettable.
Whilst a lot of distilleries are turning to automate as much of the process as possible, Joadja believes that the human touch is still an essential part of their success; every step of the process is carried out with care and precision in order to create a product that is unrivalled in quality.
Solution
