Introduction 

Momentum Industrial (MI), is one of the leading electrical and mechanical solution providers in Sydney and have gone through a significant growth in the past 12 months.

MI’s goal is to assist its customers through innovative, reliable, safe and compliant engineering solutions across many industries, including food equipment, manufacturing, warehouse/logistics and fast-moving consumer goods. Their team has many years of combined experience in engineering and various trades and are committed to delivering specialty needs to their customers.

Background

As part of their recent growth, Momentum Industrial have heavily invested in 3D Additive Printing. They can now 3D print everything from plastic to continuous carbon fibre, as well as a range of metals, including Inconel, tool steel, stainless steel and copper.

Part of the metal 3D printing process involves sintering the part (heating at high temperatures) – this meant that MI was able to run lines from gas bottle banks to an inside control panel. MI needed fittings that would be able to handle the unique nature and high pressures required of the installation that had a complex set up.

Solution & Results:

Momentum Industrial partnered with Ibex Australia, as our range of VIS-LOK twin ferrule compression fittings would be the perfect fit for this project.

During the installation, MI were able to run four separate ¼” lines through external walls into their factory and down through their newly installed refrigerated panel room. This meant a lot of complex bends and angles, ending with fittings out of the gas supply and into the panel.

MI’s utilisation of Ibex’s VIS-LOK fittings made this project a lot simpler and helped with a quick installation and turnaround time.

VIS-LOK is an innovative compression fittings system, that uses a unique check ring system to ensure the perfect tightness every time. It can be used in a wide range of application and industries and is quick and easy to install.

Though Momentum Industrial have used Ibex in the past, utilising our stainless steel press fit for air and water installation, this project was their first time using VIS-LOK Compression Fittings.
